Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I work with a running coach?
While online plans offer general guidance, a running coach provides a fully personalized approach, tailoring workouts to your goals, pace, and schedule. A coach adjusts your training in real-time, offering accountability, motivation, and support to keep you on track. They also help prevent overtraining and injuries by balancing workouts with recovery. Most importantly, a coach is in your corner to celebrate wins, tackle setbacks, and ensure you reach the finish line with confidence and strength.

What can I expect from your coaching program?
As your running coach, I’ll design a weekly training plan tailored to your goals and needs, adjusting it as we go based on your feedback and schedule. What sets me apart as a coach is my curiosity and eagerness to learn—I’m passionate about understanding each runner’s unique journey and constantly working to refine my approach to support you even better. I’m here not only to provide guidance but to adapt and grow with you as we tackle new challenges together.

Can you help me prepare for a specific race?
Yes! Whether it’s a 5K or a marathon, I can help athletes get to the finish line.

Do I have to live in Boston?
Nope! My coaching is fully remote, so I can work with runners anywhere.

What do I need to get started?
All you need to get started is a solid pair of running shoes and comfortable clothes to run in. If you’d like to participate in my Advanced Plan, you will need a fitness watch (Apple watch, Garmin, Coros, etc.).

How long is a typical coaching program?
To prepare for a race, it will depend on the distance and the runner’s experience, but I would recommend at least 12 or more weeks of training.

If you don’t have a race on the calendar but would like a coach, I am happy to provide plans for general running fitness and other running goals.

What kind of plans do you offer?
I offer two plans: the Basic Plan and the Advanced Plan.

The Basic Plan includes a personalized training plan using a shared document. The document will include the specific workouts assigned to the athlete, and the athlete will be able to leave notes after each workout.

The Advanced Plan includes a personalized training plan using a free app called FinalSurge. This requires the athlete to have and integrate their smartwatch to the app. The workouts will be pre-programmed and sent to the athlete’s watch based on the training schedule. As the coach, I will receive data and feedback gathered from the watch, enabling me to provide more specific feedback and coaching.

Both plans include basic strength training, a monthly support call, and a pre-race prep call.
